Needle Tycoon
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This policy explains what information the iPhone game Needle Tycoon (the "game") and this website handle, why, who else is involved, and the choices you have. Needle Tycoon is published by Jazz Games ("we", "us").
The short version. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no chat and nothing you write that anyone else sees. Your game is saved on your phone and backed up to your own iCloud. To run ads you choose to watch, take purchases, count how the game is played and fix crashes, we use Apple, Google (AdMob and Firebase), RevenueCat and Meta. Tracking across other companies' apps happens only if you allow it when iOS asks. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Who we are
Needle Tycoon is made and published by Jazz Games, which is the controller of the personal information described here. For anything about privacy, write to hello@jazzgames.net.
2. What we collect
Things the game keeps on your phone
- Your game save: the shed, its machines and belts, your money, plans, needles, medals, Brass, settings and the like. It stays on your phone.
- A device identifier: a random code the game makes the first time it runs and keeps in your phone's keychain. It is not your name, your phone number or Apple's advertising identifier. It is shown at the bottom of Settings so support can find your records.
Things that leave your phone
- iCloud backup: a copy of your save and your Brass wallet is kept in your own iCloud (Apple's key-value storage), so a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account can pick up where you left off. This copy is in your Apple Account; we cannot read it.
- Game Center: if you are signed in to Game Center, your scores for needles found and piles finished are sent to Apple's leaderboards under your Game Center profile.
- Purchases: purchases are made through Apple. Apple tells the game what you bought; RevenueCat, our purchase service, receives the store receipt and your subscription status under an anonymous app user ID. We never receive your card details, name or Apple Account email.
- Gameplay and diagnostics: events such as first opening, reaching a milestone, an offer shown, an ad watched or a purchase made, together with your device identifier, device model, iOS version, app version, language and country or region (from your settings, not your location); crash reports; and performance measurements such as start-up time. These go to Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring) and to our own Firebase backend. Firebase App Check sends a check from Apple's DeviceCheck/App Attest that the request comes from a real copy of the game.
- Advertising: when you choose to watch a rewarded video, Google AdMob receives information about your device and the ad request (for example IP address, device model, OS version and, only if you allow tracking, Apple's advertising identifier, the IDFA) to show and measure the ad.
- Ad measurement: to learn which of our own ads bring players, we use Apple's SKAdNetwork (which reports campaign results without identifying you) and the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which receives app events such as installs and purchases, and the IDFA only if you allow tracking.
- Support: whatever you send us when you email us, including your email address.
Things we do not collect
No account, name, email (unless you write to us), contacts, photos, microphone, precise location, health data or messages. The game has no chat, no user-generated content and no AI features. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent to a server to make them.
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when you open a page. Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) keeps ordinary server logs.
3. How we use it
- To run the game: save and restore your progress, give you what you bought, restore purchases, show the ads you choose and give their rewards, post leaderboard scores.
- To keep it working: find and fix crashes and slow screens.
- To improve it: understand, in aggregate, where players get stuck and what they enjoy, and tune prices and rewards (Firebase Remote Config sends the game settings; it does not collect anything extra).
- To measure our own advertising, as described above.
- To answer you when you write to us, and to meet legal duties (for example tax records for purchases kept by Apple, or answering a lawful request).
Where the EU or UK GDPR or Turkey's KVKK applies, our legal bases are: performing our agreement with you (running the game, purchases, rewards); our legitimate interests (security, crash reports, improving the game, answering support); your consent (personalised ads and tracking, asked through Google's consent form and Apple's tracking prompt); and legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that run the game for us, each under its own terms and privacy policy:
- Apple: App Store purchases, iCloud key-value storage, Game Center, SKAdNetwork, App Attest. apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: AdMob (rewarded ads), the User Messaging Platform (consent), Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, App Check, Cloud Functions and Hosting. policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services
- RevenueCat: purchase receipts and subscription status. revenuecat.com/privacy
- Meta Platforms: ad measurement through the Facebook SDK. facebook.com/privacy/policy
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect players or the game from fraud or abuse, or to a buyer if the game or Jazz Games is sold, under this policy. We do not sell your personal information, and we share it for cross-context behavioural advertising only if you allow tracking.
5. How long we keep it
- Your save on your phone: until you delete it or the app.
- Your iCloud copy: until you remove it from iCloud.
- Gameplay events and analytics: up to 14 months in Google Analytics, and no longer than we need them in our own backend (at most 26 months).
- Crash reports: about 90 days in Crashlytics.
- Purchase records: as long as needed to provide your purchases and as tax and accounting law requires.
- Support emails: up to two years after the conversation ends.
6. Deleting your data
- On your phone: Settings in the game, then Delete my data, clears your save from the phone. Deleting the app does the same.
- The iCloud copy: on your iPhone, open Settings, your name, iCloud, then manage the storage for Needle Tycoon, or turn iCloud off for the game. It lives in your Apple Account, so only you can remove it.
- The device identifier is kept in the keychain and can outlast deleting the app; Delete my data keeps it so restored purchases still match.
- Everything else (analytics events linked to your device identifier, support emails): email hello@jazzgames.net with the device identifier shown at the bottom of Settings, and we will delete what we hold within 30 days.
Purchases are records of Apple and RevenueCat; deleting data does not refund or remove them, and a subscription has to be cancelled in your App Store account settings.
7. Children
Needle Tycoon is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age your country sets). If you believe a child has used the game and we hold their information, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Where it is processed
Our service providers process information in the United States, the European Union and other countries where they operate, which may have different data protection laws from yours. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or KVKK requires it, transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms. For transfers out of Turkey, we rely on the safeguards and procedures set out in KVKK Article 9.
9. Your rights and choices
Choices in the game and on your phone
- Tracking: iOS asks whether the game may track you. If you say no, the IDFA is never shared. You can change this any time in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Consent for ads: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears before any ad. You can change your answer in the game's Settings under Privacy choices.
- Ads at all: every ad is optional. If you never tap a watch button, no ad is requested for you.
- Reminders: turn them off in the game's Settings, or in iOS Settings, Notifications, Needle Tycoon.
- Game Center and iCloud: sign out of Game Center or turn iCloud off for the game in iOS Settings.
Your legal rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, take it elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was done before.
- EEA and UK (GDPR, UK GDPR): you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
- Turkey (KVKK, Law No. 6698): under Article 11 you may learn whether your data is processed, ask for information about it, learn its purpose and the parties it is transferred to in Turkey or abroad, ask for correction, deletion or destruction, object to a result arising solely from automated analysis, and claim compensation for unlawful processing. You may also apply to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu).
- US states (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia): you may ask to know, delete and correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. Saying no to the iOS tracking prompt opts you out of sharing for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email hello@jazzgames.net with the device identifier from Settings. We answer within 30 days (or sooner where the law requires) and may ask for that identifier to confirm the request is yours, since we hold no name or account.
10. Security
Information sent from the game travels encrypted (HTTPS). Requests to our backend are checked with Firebase App Check. Access to our dashboards is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so in the game or on this page before it takes effect.
12. Contact
Jazz Games, hello@jazzgames.net. Please include the device identifier shown at the bottom of the game's Settings if your question is about your data.
